Oh, hi there. I'm Andrea. It's so nice to "meet" you. :)
I’m a licensed clinical social worker in #columbiasc , a mental health therapist with over ten years experience working with women and families, children’s book author of the @mindfulstepsseries, and an explorer of using #mindfulness to “keep it real” for my most important role - being a mom. ❤️
I'm not one of those "adorable" mom bloggers. I'm anxious, I'm a recovering perfectionist, I can be intense at times, I've gained more weight than I'd like to admit since moving halfway across the country and can't seem to lose it, I second-guess everything I do, my self-esteem goes out the window over one awkward moment (and I have a lot of those), I'm highly sensitive, I'm cynical (or as I like to say, "realistic...), + 100 more negative traits and I feel TOTALLY alone in all of them.
BUT, and if you're still reading, I know I'm not alone. I know I'm so much more than any of the aforementioned traits, which is exactly why I'm an advocate of community, mental health support, and normalizing self-compassion and acceptance (while also promoting self-growth and discovery) in parenthood and in life.
If you can relate to any of the above or know anyone who can, I'm so happy our paths have crossed. I hope you'll befriend me through our parenthood journey and join me in creating a community where we can be exactly who we are.
With warmth and gratitude,
Andrea
